This course is the complement of the seminar course A2443 - Weco. Sociaal ondernemingsbeleid/HRM, which dealt with the basics of HRM and related tools like recruitment, selection, development, etc. This course is one of the main courses in the major HRM en arbeidsmarkt.
The aim of this advanced seminar course is to offer specialized topics in the field of human resource management (HRM) and industrial relations (IR) at company level. The topics all deal with the interrelationship between major strategic changes and the role/function/impact of HRM and Industrial Relations in the organization.

Learning objectives:
In general, the course is designed to enable students to contribute to the tuning-process between corporate strategies, organizational structure and culture and aspects of personnel and organisation in an international and comparative setting.
In this seminar course Dutch students and students from abroad will be working together in small teams on two-weekly assignments encompassing both theory and practice. The input from practice will be achieved by cases, role-play, guest lectures and company visits. The assessment of the students will be based upon teamwork, discussion input, two-weekly assignments and the final individual essay (10 - 15 pages). The final individual essay can be used as the starting point for writing a master thesis (scriptie).
