Content

International economic integration - representing both economic co-operation among nation states and the internationalisation of firms - has effect on the functioning of firms as well as of national economies.

During this course the theory and effects of economic integration are discussed, and experiences with economic integration in Europe, North America and Asia are studied.

Special attention is given to economic integration within the framework of the EU. The effect of the Internal Market Programme and the consequences of economic policies of the EU (among others, the Common Agricultural Policy, industrial, competition, environmental and social policies) for firms and national governments are analysed.
