The implementation of the Economic and Monetary Union (EMU) in Europe and the introduction of the Euro has important implications for companies in the EU, for EU member states and for international financial markets.
Topics include: Central Bank independence, price stability, criteria for convergence, implications for employment in the EU member states and effects on firms.
The course also analyses the international position of the EU as a consequence of EMU.
