The purpose of this course is twofold. The first purpose is to become
familiar with concepts and indicators of poverty and inequality, with causes of
poverty and inequality, and with pro-poor policies and strategies at different
levels: household, local, national and international.
The second purpose is to train skills for quantitative research in the field of
poverty and inequality. At the end of the course, the participants can monitor
and analyse the development of poverty and inequality in a region, in a country,
or in the world.
